The 24 Solar terms are the names that represent the seasons by dividing the year into 24 equal parts. This Akkeshi release labelled "USUI" is the "2nd" of the 24 solar terms. This is a blended whisky that was matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry, mizunara and wine casks. The malt from the Akkeshi Distillery accounts for the majority, and the imported grain new make is aged for more than 3 years at Akkeshi before vatting for this release. A gorgeous harmony of the sweet and fragrant peat characteristic of the Akkeshi malt combined with the lightness of the grain whisky. 15,000 bottles were released.
Nose: Dark cacao, custard pudding, raisins with citrus overtones Palate: Citrus, mint like refreshing notes with some white pepper spiciness, and milk chocolate sweetness.
