This Springbank 21 Year single malt whisky is a limited edition bottling which was matured in a combination of Bourbon, Sherry, Port and Rum Casks and released in 2017. Reportly, the number of bottles released were 3800. A great combination of flavours starting with sweet and savoury notes balanced with hint of cooked fruits, cured meat, tobacco and leather.
Nose: Sweet with coastal undertones while the rum cask influence introduces dried tropical fruit including banana, coconut shavings and Demerara sugar Palate: Gentle and refined; Molasses and apricots combine well with cured meats, tobacco leaf and old leather. Finish: The long gentle finish reveals Caribbean jerk seasoning with cayenne pepper, cinnamon and black peppercorn present against a background of soft smoky embers. (Distillery Tasting Notes)
