Karuizawa distillery, est. in 1955 at the foothills of Mt Asama (an active volcano northwest of Tokyo) was the highest distillery in Japan at 850 m above sea level. Low temperatures and high humidity provide an ideal climate for making whisky. Bottled in 2012, this single malt was distilled during the final days of the distillery 1999-2000 and matured in European Oak Sherry Casks. Labels are a bit faded but still in good condition. Sold in "As Is" condition. Available in original paper boxes.
